Romania has signed a European declaration committing to better communication of research

We recognise that science has a responsibility to society to ensure clarity, transparency and comprehensibility in communicating research results and to explain the difference between non-scientific opinions and scientifically verifiable results. We encourage and support research organisations in their efforts to communicate the scientific process and results and to interact with society in such a way as to nip distortions and misinformation campaigns in the bud. Trust in science is essential for an inclusive, open and democratic society. In the long term, scientific freedom can only be maintained as long as science is understood and trusted by society.

From the Bonn Declaration on Freedom of Scientific Research - A Common Core Principle of the European Research Area and its International Partners

The above excerpt is taken from the "Bonn Declaration", a joint statement by EU research ministers on freedom of science. By signing it on 20 October, Romania is committed to respecting and promoting a number of principles that ensure freedom of research, including clear, transparent and understandable communication of research results.

I hope it will be an impetus to find mechanisms whereby universities and research institutions are supported in their research promotion and public dialogue efforts.
