The Clujean Cultural Centre in partnership with Universcience - Paris organizes a scientific mediation course during the Romania - France 2019 season. The course aims to develop practical skills in communicating science to a wide audience.

The course will take place from 14 to 15 May 2019 in Cluj-Napoca and is aimed at 15 participants. Led by Catherine OUALIAN, a French specialist in scientific communication, the course will be conducted in English.

Registration are made by 8 May by filling in the form. Participation is free of charge and the 15 participants will be selected on the basis of the documentation submitted.

The aim of the course is to prepare participants to design and facilitate activities to familiarize the general public with science and specific topics that are addressed scientifically.

How can science be introduced to the general public? Why choose one method or another for science communication? How to attract and maintain public attention to scientific information? The Science Mediation Training Workshop aims to answer these questions and prepare participants to design a science mediation programme for the general public.

The workshop will focus on on developing practical skills in:
- Moderating events and co-creating with various actors
- Development of information activities
- Building presentation techniques and "staging" a theme to different audiences
